Ashley Hay was born at Bulli Hospital and lived with her parents in Austinmer until 1989. She attended the local public school and Bulli High School and continues to visit regularly. Her perspectives on Austinmer as a published Australian writer are insightful and imaginative and capture the notion of its “specialness” for many people.
