Dot Craig first glimpsed Austinmer from the train in 1946 when she arrived as a young bride from Western Australia. She stayed until her death in 2011. Her perspectives as a young woman working and managing her family in Austinmer during times of social change the 1950s and 1960s are insightful. Dot’s memories of Austinmer as a strong coastal community in a beautiful setting reflect a common theme.
