In the 1930s Margery Gilleland‘s parents lived in Maroubra and built a weekender in Oceana Parade. She spent many happy times there until it was sold in the 1976. Austinmer Beach was the centre of family life and Margery’s memories celebrate the role of the beach in Austinmer’s social life.
