Don Bath

Don Bath was born in Coledale Hospital in the late 1940s and has strong connections to Austinmer through his grandparents, Don and Annie Lett. The Letts moved to Austinmer in 1912 and Don has many memories of their contribution to the community as house builders and as the owners of Keswick Guesthouse. Members of the Lett family still live in Austinmer.

  1. My dad who is turning 90 in April was born in Austinmer
His godmother was Don Baths mother (Dons mum and my aunt Chloe were lifetime friends)
Dads family left when he was a child but returned to it often to holiday , staying at the guest house where dad was friends with the Letts who he remembers as lovely people
He recalls dressing the tennis court with sugar bags of sand he and Mr Lett carried up from the beach
Das sad to see the guesthouse closed and boarded up on our current visit
