Judy Bourke grew up in Woonona and lived in a tent while her parents built a house for their growing family. She learned practical skills and independence as a child in addition to caring for others.
Judy worked for Wollongong Council. After marrying and having children, she studied art at TAFE and university and began her arts career. She has a diverse arts practice which includes printmaking and sculpture, and has exhibited and won prizes regularly. Judy values community and has been involved in many community-based movements.
