Joan Polonis (Nee Drew) was born in Cairns, Queensland in 1935. She came to Dapto in 1959 with her husband where they raised their young family in Cambridge Road. In this interview Joan speaks about her children’s beloved Fairy Ring and the competitive building of bonfires during Cracker Night.
Joan worked at the local Doctor Surgery in Dapto on and off for 20 years and remembers the professional commitment of the team, and joining resources with the local community to raise the funds for the construction of Dapto Pool.
