Joyce Chapman was born in Woonona and has happy childhood memories of the area, including selling lollies at Woonona Beach kiosk. She remembers fund raising and rationing during WWII. In the 1950s, Joyce worked in the Marcus Clarke retail store in Wollongong. After moving to Shellharbour during her teenage years she married and returned to live in Corrimal, where she still resides. Music has been an important part of Joyce’s life, playing piano at church and for charities as part of the musical group Harmony 5.
