The Waves

The Waves Thirroul Project was produced in 2013 when memories, photographs, family trees and memorabilia relating to reunions was collected and archived as a manuscript in Wollongong City Libraries Local Studies Collection, details here. Twenty-one houses in what was originally called Wave St, now The Waves, were occupied by families who had transferred from Sydney, Goulburn and other railway depots in 1939 to work with the steam trains at Thirroul.

Listen to three interviews with residents from The Waves.
