The Hill 60 Oral History project is part of the Illawarra Stories, an ongoing project of Wollongong City Libraries. They can also be accessed from QR code from Interpretive signage at Hill 60.
Transcribed stories which include memories of Hill 60, conducted by Department of Environment and Conservation NSW in 2004, can also be downloaded here.
Aunty Sheryl Davis/Fulcher is a Wodi Wodi Elder. Aunty Sheryl shares her knowledge of her family members who lived on Hill 60. Her mother Muriel Davis nee Bell resided on Hill 60 with her family.

Uncle Paul Cummins and Uncle Mark Pietruszewski
Uncle Paul Cummins and Uncle Mark Pietruszewski are local Aboriginal Elders whose descendants resided at Hill 60, Port Kembla. Uncle Paul and Uncle Mark are brothers and share the history of their ancestors and their experiences.

Uncle Steve Russell
Uncle Steve Russell is an Aboriginal Elder who is a connected to Hill 60 through his ancestors the Timbery family who later moved to La Perouse. His Mother Esme Timbery was born on Hill 60. Uncle Steve is an artist who designed the terrazzo at Hill 60, he shares the meaning of the design.

Uncle Lance Puckeridge is a local Aboriginal Elder who was born in Port Kembla near Hill 60. He shares his knowledge and experiences about Hill 60. Uncle Lance shares his knowledge about areas surrounding Hill 60 and His family who lived near MM beach.

Aunty Lorraine’s husband Sonny’s family lived on Hill 60 along with other families she knew. She talks about the seafood which was found in the surrounding waters around the headland which appears in her paintings, the importance of sustainability and teaching Culture to younger generations.
