John Mallia migrated to Australia from Malta in 1949 and made a better life for his family. Before coming to Australia, John had worked as a carpenter. Once in the Illawarra, he gained employment in Port Kembla at the steelworks and the Housing Commission. He was able to buy local real estate and find financial security.
John was interviewed by Barry York in 1984.
