Kevin Gillis was born in Wollongong and grew up in Port Kembla. He worked in Buchanan’s furniture store before starting his own business Gillis Bros. He and his wife Dorothy were awarded OAM for service to the community in research & the preservation of heritage sites. Kevin is a wood carver and restorer and uses woodcut to create artworks of the local area.
