Michelle Falson spent the first six months of her life in the shack, where her parents resided while they were building a house at Mascot. She fondly remembers holidays at Bonnie Vale in the 1970s and 1980s and the childhood freedom to explore, play on the beach, and ride bikes to the shop. She still enjoys taking her sons to stay at Bonnie Vale, but the shack community has been reduced since her parents’ and grandparents’ time and the area has changed with the growth of the camping ground and presence of day trippers.
