John Mallia migrated to Australia from Malta in 1949 and made a better life for his family in Australia. Before coming to Australia, John had worked as a carpenter in the British protectorate of Malta. Once in the Illawarra, he worked in Port Kembla at the steelworks and the Housing Commission. He was able to buy local real estate and find financial security.
John was interviewed by Barry York in 1984.
