Barbara Street

In Part 1 Barbara Street (nee Thomson) talks about growing up and living in Wollongong and shares great insights into the life of women in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Her first job was at AMCO clothing factory and by the age of seventeen she had saved enough money to buy a block of land. Barbara married John Street in 1962. In Part 2 Barbara talks about how from 1965, she has volunteered in many organisations and community groups. She shares her experience running with the Olympic Torch and about receiving her Order of Australia Medal.
